The Township Clerk acts as the Secretary to the Township Council.  The Clerk's Office is responsible for the following:

 

  • Preparing the agenda for the Township Council meeitngs
  • Minutes for the Township Council meetings
  • Township licensing
  • Dog licenses
  • Requests for public information

 

DOG LICENSE INFORMATION

All dogs seven months or older are required to be licensed by January 31st of each year. Dog License renewal notices will be mailed out on the last day of December each year and the Township will not be able to issue any  renewal licenses until January 1st of the licensing year.  Proof of a current rabies vaccination good through November of the licensing year is required in order to license any dog.  A spaying/neutering certificate should also be provided if applicable. The Township offers a free rabies clinic each January.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq., and in consideration of Executive Order No. 103, issued by Governor Murphy on March 9, 2020, declaring a State of Emergency and a Public Health Emergency in the State of New Jersey, the Township of Springfield does hereby notify the public that to protect the health, safety and welfare of our citizens while ensuring the continued functioning of government, the meeting of the Planning Board of the Township of Springfield scheduled for August 3, 2021 will be held electronically.  Members of the public who wish to participate in the meeting may do so through the web by going to https://us02web.zoom.us/j/83941036482  or calling 1-301-715-8592 followed by meeting number 83941036482 and password 695390 at 7:30 pm.   Please be advised that long distance charges may apply if you choose to use the dial in phone number depending on your phone plan.  Individuals entering this meeting through the web or calling in to this number will be able to fully participate in the meeting, including providing public comment.   Any presentations or documents that would otherwise be viewed or made available to members of the public physically attending a local public body meeting shall be made visible on a video broadcast of the remote public meeting or made available for download under the DUCUMENTS TAB on the Township’s Website www.springfieldtownshipnj.org.   The following item is on for discussion at this meeting:

2021 MASTER PLAN REEXAMINATION AND UPDATE REPORT FOR THE 

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP PLANNING BOARD (BURLINGTON COUNTY, NJ)

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to the New Jersey Open Public Meetings Act, N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq. and the Municipal Land Use Law, particularly N.J.S.A. 40:55D-13, that the Springfield Township Planning Board  (the “Board”) will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 7:30 p.m. by remote platform technology in light of the global pandemic and declared state of emergency, which can be accessed as follows:

At the time of the public hearing, the Board will consider adoption of the Springfield Township 2021 Master Plan Reexamination and Update Report. A Master Plan is a Township-wide policy document that outlines the vision for the community's growth, development, and preservation. Under New Jersey law, municipalities are required to re-examine their Master Plans every ten (10) years. 

PLEASE BE ADVISED that any interested party may attend such public hearing and will be afforded the opportunity to be give comment/ testimony. A copy of the subject 2021 Master Plan Reexamination and Update Report will be  available for public inspection and copying beginning ten (10) days prior to the hearing during normal business hours, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, in the Township Clerk’s Office located in the Municipal Building, 2159 Jacksonville-Jobstown Road, Jobstown, New Jersey 08041. The document may also be requested electronically by emailing clerk@springfieldtownshipnj.org.  Following the public hearing, formal action may be taken or the hearing may be continued to a date as may be scheduled by the Board.
